Motorola Unveils Its Most Intelligent Smartphones Yet with the Razr 60 and Edge 60 Pro

Motorola has dropped two of its smartest devices to date on the Australian market with the motorola razr 60 and motorola edge 60 pro. Both devices arrive on 10 July with identical A$1,199 price tags, which is quite refreshing in today’s market where flagship pricing can vary wildly. Motorola has positioned these as complementary rather than competing products, each targeting different user preferences while maintaining the same premium experience level.

The standout feature across both devices is moto ai, including the Next Move functionality. This isn’t just another voice assistant – it’s designed to anticipate what you need based on what’s currently on your screen. Planning a dinner date? It’ll suggest saving the date to your calendar. Browsing recipes? It might help you create a shopping list. This kind of contextual intelligence could be genuinely useful rather than just a marketing gimmick.

The integration with Google Circle to Search and Gemini Live further enhances this experience, creating what Motorola describes as a “proactive, intuitive companion” rather than a traditional assistant. The real test will be how seamlessly these features work in everyday use, but the concept sounds promising.

Razr 60

The motorola razr 60 continues the iconic flip phone legacy while addressing durability concerns that have plagued foldable devices. The new titanium-reinforced hinge is apparently four times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel, which should provide real peace of mind for daily use.

It offers a new Air Gesture feature for video recording. Being able to start, stop, and pause recording with simple hand gestures could be genuinely useful for content creators who often work solo and have their hands full. The 3.6″ external display means you can access most functions without opening the phone, which preserves the hinge mechanism and speeds up everyday tasks.

The camera system looks solid with a 50MP main sensor featuring OIS, paired with a 13MP ultrawide and macro lens. For a flip phone, this represents serious photographic capability. The fact that it’s one of the world’s first flip phones with Pantone validation for both display and camera suggests Motorola is taking colour accuracy seriously.

Edge 60 Pro

The motorola edge 60 pro tackles the perennial smartphone problem of battery life head-on with a massive 6000mAh battery. DXOMARK has given it a Gold Label and the highest score in their smartphone battery ranking so that’s pretty awesome.

The 90W TurboPower charging capability means you can get 45 hours of battery life from just minutes of charging, which could be transformative for heavy users. The 6.7″ pOLED display with 4500 nits peak brightness should handle any outdoor conditions, while the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset with 12GB RAM boost provides solid performance foundations.

Military-grade durability and the highest level of water and dust protection make this a practical choice for users who need a phone that can handle tough conditions without compromise.
